The Acer AspireRevo is a tiny desktop computer with the guts of a netbook. In other words, it's a nettop with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. It comes in several different configurations, but for the first time one of the more exciting models is available in the US. You can now pick up an AspireRevo with NVIDIA ION LE graphics for $199 from Newegg.
The single core 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU should provide enough power for basic tasks like web surfing, editing documents, and so forth. But the NVIDIA ION graphics really come into play when you want to watch 1080p HD video or play some relatively high performance video games. On the down side, since Adobe Flash isn't optimized to take advantage of the graphics processor yet, you'll still have to put up with choppy playback of HD or high quality video from web sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and Hulu.
Still, at $199 the AspireRevo is now not just one of the most powerful nettops around, it's also one of the cheapest.
