Chinese PC maker Malta is showing off a smartbook called the T9000. It's available for purchase in China, but this week the folks at Netbook News got a chance to check one out in person in the US. Just don't bank on it ever going up for sale in the states,
The tablet uses a Marvell Armada 166 ARM-based chip and has 8GB of storage space. The 10 inch display has a 1024 x 600 pixel screen resolution. The device runs a version of Linux.
In a video overview, Sascha from Netbook News suggests that the case looks similar to an Asus Eee PC netbook, but the keyboard looks more like something I would expect from an HP netbook. The port arrangement is also rather unusual, with USB amd micro USB ports, a SIM card slot in the side of the case. The Malata T9000 has a 3 cell, 15Whr battery.
