A little over a month ago we saw Acer's latest iteration of the Aspire One D255 appear on the Home Shopping Network website featuring the dual core Atom CPU for a price tag of $399.99. Since then however, the listings have been taken down and the netbook appears to not be available to purchase in the US.
However the Acer Aspire One D255 is now listed at Amazon.com. The netbook is available to pre-order in a choice of four colors, aquamarine, sandstone brown, diamond black or ruby red. Amazon will be selling the dual core Acer Aspire One D255 for $330. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a shipping date for the netbook as of yet.
Apart from the dual core Intel Atom N550 processor, the Aspire D255 also features 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive and a 10.1 inch glossy display. Windows 7 Starter Edition is the OS of choice for the netbook. You should be able to get around 8 hours battery life out of the 6 cell battery it comes with.
