Folks who have been following the netbook space might remember the name CherryPal. I don't really expect it to resonate with anybody else. But CherryPal was one of the first companies to release a cheap netbook running Google Android, as well as cheap Linux netbooks. Now the company is getting into the tablet space, with the launch of the CherryPad, a 7 inch Android tablet.
The machine features an 800MHz processor, an 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchscreen display, a G-sensor, 2GB of storage, 256MB of RAM, 802.11b/g/ WiFi and a microSD card reader. The tablet also has a USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and built in speakers and a microphone. It has a 3200mAh battery.
The CherryPad weighs 1.1 pounds and CherryPal says it has an aluminum case, which sets it apart from many of the other cheap tablets on the market which have plastic cases.
You can pick one up for $188 plus shipping.
