China's been making cheap knockoffs of popular brands for a while now. Some of them are actually pretty decent. Like this new Laser One laptop from China. It feels pretty much like a new variation on the Acer Aspire One netbook series. That's what the makers were probably aiming for.
The Laser One is larger and cheaper than your average Acer notebook – some actually would prefer it that way. It's got a 12 inch display and a $230 price tag with a more typical keyboard – a result of the bigger chassis. Unfortunately, that's all that it brings to the table. It's got pretty average specs with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, a gig of memory, and a 160GB hard drive. The usual jacks and ports are also available. Still, it's pretty decent. If you're in the market for a cheap second laptop – this is a good choice.
