The Sony Vaio P is a tiny Intel Atom powered computer that runs about a thousand dollars for the cheapest model. Sure, the screen, keyboard, and build quality are excellent. And the Vaio P is smaller and lighter than just about any netbook on the market. But that's a lot of money to pay for an Intel Atom powered machine with a 4 hour battery, even if it does weigh just 1.4 pounds.
If you want some of the fancier options like a 128GB SSD (the base model comes with a 64GB solid state disk) or a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor (as opposed to the 1.33GHz Atom Z520) you'll have to shell out even more cash. Models with those specs will run you $1500 or more.
But Notebooks.com found a coupon which takes $500 off the price of selected models. If you pick up a $1500 Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC or a $2000 Vaio Signature PC you can knock off $500 with the coupon code VAIO500P through October 13th. That brings the prices down to $1000 to $1500. That's still a lot of money, but at least it's substantially less than you'd pay without the coupon.
