Lenovo's IdeaPad Yoga computers are part notebook, part tablet. You can lift the lid and start typing away like you would on any other notebook — or you can push the screen back 360 degrees sot hat it's back-to-back with the keyboard and use a Yoga like a tablet.
The latest member of the Yoga family has an 11.6 inch display, an Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPU, Windows 8 software, and a starting price of $799.99. The IdeaPag Yoga 11S ships on June 23rd, but you can pre-order one now from Lenovo or Best Buy.
Interestingly, that's the same price Lenovo had originally planned to charge for the IdeaPad Yoga 11, a model with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and Windows RT software. But by the time that model launched, the price had fallen by more than $100, and these days you can pick one up for about $549.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S has a faster processor, fuller-featured software, and more memory and storage than the Windows RT model. While you can certainly find cheaper notebooks or tablets for $800, that might not be a bad asking price for a computer that functions as both.
On the other hand, since the keyboard isn't detachable, the Yoga 11S is a bit heavy for a tablet, weighing about 3.1 pounds. The computer measures about 11.7″ x 8″ x 0.7″.
The Yoga 11S features an Intel Core i5-3339Y processor, Intel HD 4000 graphics, an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB solid ate disk. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth, has a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 port, features an SD card reader and a 720p webcam.
Lenovo also offers models with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and Core i7 processors, with prices climbing as high as $1350 for a top-of-the-line model.
Or you can still opt for a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, which has a 13.3 inch, 1600 x 900 pixel display, comes standard with 8GB of RAM, and offers choices of Intel Core i3 through Core i7 processors. The 13 inch model has been available since late 2012, and it has a starting price of $999.
