Ekoore Python S3 convertible tablet triple-boots Windows 8, Android, Ubuntu

Can't decide if you want a tablet or a notebook? No problem. There are plenty of hybrids that you can use either way.

But what if you also can't decide if you want a model that runs Windows, Android, or Linux? It turns out there's at least one hybrid tablet designed to run all three.

Italy's Ekoore has released an 11.6 inch tablet with a detachable display, an x86 processor, and multi-OS support. It's called the Ekoore Python S3, and it's available in Italy for about 599 Euros ($770 US).

The Python S3 looks a bit like an Asus Transformer Pad or HP x2 tablet. The processor, storage, and other vital components are packed into the tablet section. But you can attach the keyboard dock to add a full-sized keyboard, a touchpad, additional USB ports, an Ethernet jack, and audio jacks.

In the tablet portion you'll also find an HDMI output, USB port, microSD card slot, and headphone jack.

There's also a battery in the keyboard dock, which should give you longer battery life when using the Ekoore Python S3 as a notebook. Ekoore says you should get up to 7 hours of run time using the tablet's 4800mAh battery, and an extra 5 hours with the 3600mAh battery in the docking station.

Ekoore's hybrid tablet has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display and a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron 847 dual-core processor. The base model features 2GB of RAM and a 32GB solid state disk, but the computer can handle up to 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage.

Customers can order the Ekoore Python S4 configured with Windows 8, Android 4.2, or Ubuntu 13.04 — or you can get a model that comes with all three loaded at once.

Unfortunately like most Ekoore devices, I don't expect the Python S3 to be widely available outside of Italy.
