Acer plans to launch a new 7.9 inch, low-cost Android tablet in the US this June. The Acer Iconia A1 is about the size of an iPad mini, but the WiFi-only version of this tablet is expected to sell for just over half the price of Apple's tablet.
But it looks like the WiFi version may not be the only model available. The Iconia A1 showed up at the FCC this week, and it looks like the tablet will come in 3G and 4G LTE models as well.
The Iconia A1 features a 1024 x 768 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT8125 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean softare.
It has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, and front and rear cameras.
The WiFi version is expected to sell for $169 and up. I haven't seen any pricing information for the new models with mobile data chips.
