Pipo introduces U6 tablet with 7 inch, 1440 x 900 pixel display

There are dozens, possibly hundreds of Android tablets available with 7 inch displays. But Chinese device maker Pipo has just unveiled what I believe may be just the second model to features a 7 inch, 1440 x 900 pixel screen.

The Pipo U6 is an upcoming tablet with the same screen resolution as the Barnes & Noble NOOK HD.

Both tablets have screens with 243 pixels per inch, giving them a higher pixel density than most other 7 inch tablets, which tend to have 1280 x 800 pixel or lower resolution screens.

Pipo's new tablet is also expected to have an IPS display with wide viewing angles and a 450 nit display, which should make it brighter than most 7 inch tablet screens.

I haven't seen much information about other specs for this tablet, but the company's latest 10 inch tablets are now shipping with Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processors.
