MSI U180 Cedar Trail Netbook Hands On

MSI has emerged with another Netbook update with the Wind U180, which really doesn't look much different than the last MSI netbooks. Since it didn't actually change the design, most of the changes are under its shell.

The netbook's former Pine Trail processor is ow updated to Cedar Trail, thus providing the users the options between the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N2600 processor and the 1.86 GHz Atom N2800 chip. The Wind U180 supports up to 2GB of RAM and has a 250GB or 320GB hard drive. The machine draws power from a 3 or 6-cell battery.

Moreover, the netbook has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI port as well as 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0. The Wind U180 is pre-installed with Windows 7 Starter Edition.

While there are reported issues on its glitchy trackpad, some would suggest that users should also prepare a portable mouse with them when using this device.

The MSI Wind U180 still doesn't have a price tag nor does it have a date for its availability. Nevertheless, it should start appearing in online markets real soon.
