The New iPad Doesn't Interfere with Notebook Shipments

Starting last month, it seems that the notebook industry already conquered the previously problematic  slow sales since several companies have found solutions regarding hard drive shortage. It is also good news that even so the new iPad has just released, the demand for notebook PCs just continue to rise– a positive side for the industry; according to Digitimes Research's Senior Analyst Joanne Chien.

She mentioned that Acer is performing excellent sales after the company has adjusted its operation and strategies in 2011. Acer is also very aggressive in preparing for their ultrabook product lines as well.

According to Webopedia.com, "ultrabooks are a new category of notebook computers that seeks to fill the gap between lightweight laptops and tablets."  Ultrabooks are more powerful but, of course, they are more expensive too.

Known ultrabooks like the MacBooks cost around $600 each while the higher-end models are priced as much as $1,100 and up.
