Apple Working on an 8-inch iPad Mini for Pre-Holiday Season?

There have been rumors that Apple will be releasing an iPad Mini pre-holiday season. It has been alleged that the iPad Mini will be more of an 8-incher than a 7-incher, considering that it will actually be 7.85".

Apple is neither confirming and denying these rumors, but sources say that the iPad Mini will be introduced October of this year alongside with the new iPhone. It has been the subject of debate with techies as to why Apple would release an iPad Mini, when it never had produced technology for the masses or low-end market. But Apple has always planned on competing head on with discount rivals like Google and Amazon, as evidenced of their release of the iPod Nano and iPod Mini.

Rumor has it that Apple will have to commission at least 7 million units per month beginning September, prior to its release the following month, to keep up with the demands for the Holiday Season.

Although Apple has always denied that they are going to produce an iPad as small as 7 inches, but never did they say that they are not going to produce an 8-inch mini. It has been estimated that the cost for this tablet will be around the $200 to $250 range.
