Well, what do we have here. A 12-inch EEe PC powered by NVIDIA ION? Now we're talking. Thanks to a leaked Asus Roadmap we are now aware that we may soon be seeing a new Eee PC which shall bear the model no. – Eee PC 1201. Obviously the first two digits of this model number corresponds to the 12-inch display of this so called netbook.
Aside from this, the Eee PC 1201 will also be equipped with a 1.6GHz N270 Atom, 250GB HDD, 2GB of RAM, 6-cell battery, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and will run Windows 7 Home Premium.
And because of this 12-inch Eee PC, it looks like it will be the end of the road for the 11.6-inch Eee PC 1101HA. Meaning ASus will no longer update this netbook line because of the 12-inch Eee PC line that it will be launching.
But in a bit of good news, the Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA will both have new SKUs coming out pretty soon. This is in time for the release of Windows 7 which will be carried onto the Eee PC 1005HA.
For the Eee PC 1008HA, two new SKUs will be introduced – Eee PC 1008HA-M which shall have a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, 250GB of HAA, 1GB of RAM and W7, and the other one will be the Eee PC 1008HA-P which will be loaded with N280 CPU, 320GB HDD, 2GB of RAM and W7 Home Premium. The Eee PC 1005HA-M will get a $429.99 price tag while the 1008HA-P will go for $479.99.
Now these are certainly something to watch out for.
