If you're stuck with a lowly Eee PC 701 or 901 and disposing them off to buy a newer version is not an option for you, you can still do some wonders with these old machines to make them as powerful as the Eee PC 1000 units. Well, not really at par in terms of screen and body sizes but moreso on the performance side. Your only hope? Upgrade the specs of these netbooks.
If you have no idea how to do it since you're not the geeky type, you might want to check out Maximum PC's comprehensive guide to upgrading your netbook. The site posted a 4 things that you can do as well as description on how you can do the upgrade steps to make your Eee PC 901 equipped with a 4GB SSD and 8GB PCI-E SS as well as a brand new Toshiba NB205.
The upgrade steps are not unique to those two netbooks though. You can pretty much apply them to any other netbooks of low power similar to the two.
So, if you're ready, get your netbook, some tools and check out the post.
