Cerberus is an Android app that lets you locate a missing phone on a map, remotely control it, send an alarm to your device, or wipe data. It's useful whether you've misplaced your phone or it's sitting right next to you and you'd just like to control it from a web browser.
Normally Cerberus is available for free from the Google Play Store — but after a free trial expires, you'll need to pay about $4 to register your account.
Today it's available for free. Just install Cerberus using free/discounted app of the day app AppGratis and register a new account. Cerberus will email you a confirmation that your free account is set up.
Alternately, some folks a reporting that you can just install Cerberus from the Play Store today and still get the promotion when you register — or download and install the latest beta and do the same thing.
Note that the Cerberus servers are kind of busy today with all the extra traffic from today's promotion. So the app (and registration process) aren't working as well as normal today. That should pass.
