Microsoft Readies for 2nd Gen Microsoft Tablet

Expectations are raise up high for Microsoft regarding the announcement of its second generation Surface tablets at the company's Build Developer Conference. Said conference is to be hosted from June 26-28. Reliable sources from the upstream supply chain have it that they have already shipped components for 1-1.5 million Intel-based units to the software giant since the end of 2012.

Microsoft Surface first generation tablets only reached 1.5 million of units as sales. For the Microsoft Surface RT and Microsoft Surface Pro, 1 million and 500 000 units are sold respectively. Only an average of half of the original expected of 3-4 million units has been met by the company that is why caution has been made over the promotions for its second generation tablets.

As an addition to North America, Microsoft has also been increasing its market arrive at for Surface. The Surface RT is by now accessible in Malaysia and will soon be available in Mexico at the end of May. Also, the Surface RT will be ready for purchase in Korea and Thailand in June, whilst the Surface Pro will begin sales in Australia and Austria in May and June for Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and Thailand.
