Samsung Go to be available from AT&T for $199

The Samsung Go (N310) is the latest netbook to join the ranks of laptops subsidized and sold by US wireless carriers. Starting November 22nd, AT&T will offer a Samsung Go netbook for $199 to customers that sign up for a 2-year service contract. You'll have to send in a mail-in rebate to get that price.

The laptop will run Windows 7 Starter Edition and sport a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display. 1GB of RAM, and a 160G hard drive. It has a 4 cell, 4000mAh battery and supports 802.11b/g WiFi as well as 3G wireless connections. It looks like AT&T will be selling a model with a blue cover, but the netbook is also available in black and red. No word on whether AT&T may offer those choices in the future.

As with any subsidized netbook, the up front price is pretty good, but you'd better make sure you were planning on spending $35 to $60 a month for a 3G wireless plan for the next two years before signing up, or you'll end up paying a lot more in the long run.
