Colorful S101 NewYork Netbook Has Accelerometer and G-Sensor, Hails from China

Though the name of the netbook may be misleading, the 10″ Colorful S101 NewYork netbook is actually manufactured by a Chinese company.

The NewYork netbook in  general has pretty typical specs (a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 160 GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam, for e.g.) but it also has an accelerometer and software that will rotate the display when the netbook is rotated, similar to what happens on an iPhone. The accelerometer also provides some shock protection for the hard drive. If the G-sensor detects the netbook is in freefall, it will automatically shut down the netbook's hard drive.

The NewYork netbook weighs 1.1 kg and measures 265mmx193mmx25mm. The price tag is 2180 yuan, or roughly $320 USD, not too bad and at least it can double as an e-reader.
