Netbooks are generally low power machines, and as a general rule they get better battery life than full sized laptops. Some netbooks have been reproted to get 11 hours or more of life from a single charge. But not all netbook batteries are created equal. I've also used mini-laptops that poop out after just over 2 hours.
The folks at PC Authority decided to put together one of the most comprehensive lists of netbook battery test results I've seen to date. Sure, it doesn't include every last netbook model. I don't see the Samsung N310, HP 2133 Mini-Note, or Lenovo Ideapad S10-2, for instance. And some of the models listed have 11.6 inch or higher resolution displays, so they might not fit everyone's definition of a netbook. Final caveat: PC Authority doesn't always tell you if a unit was tested with the 3 or 6 cell battery option. For example, the Acer Aspire One D250 got 2 hours and 44 minutes in their test, which implies it had a 3 cell battery, although the netbook is available with a much higher capacity 6 cell battery.
Now that we've got all of those things out of the way though, the chart is still worth checking out if you're in the market for a netbook and battery life matters to you. You can check it out at PC Authority.
