Acer's Chrome Netbook Gets A Proper Name

Well, Acer's finally given a name for their Chrome laptop. Officially dubbed the Acer Cromia AC761, it will start to go on sale on June 15. The information is courtesy of its Amazon pre-order page. Chrome, being Google's step into the OS arena, is going to be an interesting contribution into the OS wars. The fact that is being backed by several manufacturers already gives it a big boost. Acer's contribution to the Chrome effort is nothing to sneer at either.

Featuring an  11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display and a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core CPU, this is backed by an Intel GMA 3150 and 2GB of DDR3 memory. Add it 16GB of storage and the standard ports and you've got a beauty. Primarily using WiFi for connectivity, a 3G model is also in the works. No prices listed yet, but the projected price is $349.
